Projects, papers, and speeches scheduled for completion during the last week 15th week of classes must have been assigned in writing by the end of the eighth week of the semester. This stipulation refers to the project and its scope, but not the topic. Moreover, ALL requirements, except for the final exam, must be completed no later than Wednesday of the fifteenth week.

However, if the instructor has assigned a project, paper, or speech by the eighth week to replace the final, then the project, paper, or speech may be completed any time in the 15th week of the finals. Complaints about failure to follow the above oulined procedures should be made immediately. Complaints should first be made directly to the instructor of the course in which violation has occurred or is likely to occur. Students have final projects, presentations, papers, journals and assignments that all have deadlines falling the week before finals.

Professors have to grade all of that, on top of going to meetings and advising student organizations in election season and hosting end-of-the-year potlucks. The anxiety of it literally makes students and professors sick, it weakens their immune systems, it drags their ability to function into the ground. It feels like your body is giving out with each passing minute. A time to sit back and finish those final papers and projects, to really get that studying done and knock those finals out of the park.

People were not built to be awake five days and nights straight, eyes glued to study videos and textbooks.
